THE FORM OF WATERCOLOUR DROPPING ON THE PAPER ACCIDENTALLY
YOUTH / FIGHTING / FUTURE: This group of posters is inspired by the form of watercolor dropping on the paper accidentally. Then a toothpick is used to move the watercolor into moving shapes.
These posters show the athletes’ figures in relay race, discus throw and running. Unrestrained and free lines describe the vigorous bodies of athletes and their speed as well as strength. Casual and well-organized lines and color lumps look like not only the sweat and tear of athletes, but also the flowers, applause and cheer given by viewers. What’s more, these are more like vigorous and passionate movements performed by youth and colors. Hot and bright colors give people a strong visual impact and reflect the stirring atmosphere of sports meet. Obvious contrast colors make the picture active and fashionable, implying that young people, the leading roles of the Youth Olympic Games, are vigorous.
THE SILHOUETTE OF MOTION MORPHOLOGY, SKILL OF FLODING AND SHADOW
THE RACING TRACK OF YOUTH: The visual effect made by silhouette of motion morphology, skill of folding and shadow is the feature of this group of posters.
Various attempts of the shape and position of the hollowed-out part are made and finally two of these attempts are applied into the posters.
The racing track is the main part of The Racing Track of Youth, whose shape is similar to “JL”, the initials of “Jing Ling”, implying the host city of 2014 Youth Olympic Games is Nanjing.
A group of athletes are ready to run on the “J”-type racing track. It not only symbolizes the beginning of Nanjing Youth Olympics Games, but also shows that athletes are striving to move forward. While on the “L”-type racing track, there’re athletes of different sports items, representing that Youth Olympic Games has various items and vigorous athletes.
